Game Room Design & Planning

A table can fit in a room and still leave you no room to play. We help you choose the right equipment, work through the layout and bring the finishes together, without filling the space with things you don't need.

Start with how you will use the room

A family room, a regular pool-playing space and a shared strata lounge need different things. Tell us who will use it, which games matter most and the budget you're working with. Equipment you already own can be part of the plan.

Plan for playing, not just placing

For pool, we look at the playing area and cue clearance, not just the outside size of the table. Doorways, posts, seating and the route through the room matter too.

For folding or multi-use equipment, we also need to think about where it will go when it isn't being played. The aim is a room that works on an ordinary day, not just in a photo.

Make the choices work together

We can help compare table styles, available finishes, cloth colours and matching furniture. Exact options depend on the manufacturer and model. For colour-sensitive choices, physical samples are more useful than trying to match two screens.

For offices, strata rooms and other shared spaces, we'll also discuss expected use, maintenance and replacement-part support when choosing the equipment.

What to send us

A floor plan or room measurements, a few photos and the games you want to include. Note anything that has to stay, such as a bar, sofa, column or dining area. Add a rough budget so the recommendations are useful from the start.

Game Room Design & Planning questions

Do I need a separate game room?

No. We can help plan around a shared family, dining or entertainment space. The useful question is what fits with enough room to play and how the room needs to work the rest of the time.

How much room do I need for a pool table?

It depends on the actual playing surface, cue length and obstacles around the table. Send the room dimensions and the model you're considering. We'll check the layout rather than call it a fit just because the cabinet fits between the walls.

Could the pool table also be our dining table?

A table with a suitable dining top may be an option. We need to check the particular table, seating and where the top will be stored during play. A dining top shouldn't be treated as a universal fit for any pool table.

Can you help our designer, office or strata?

Yes. Share the plans, expected use and project requirements. We can help with equipment selection and discuss delivery, access and installation as part of the project.

What does your design help cover?

We help with equipment selection, room fit, finishes and installation planning. If you need drawings or a site visit, tell us what you have in mind so we can confirm what we can offer and any charges.

Can you work with what I already own?

Yes. Include photos and measurements of the pieces you want to keep. If they work for the room, there's no reason to replace them just to start from scratch.

Talk through your room

Send the room measurements, a few photos and what you'd like to play. Start with a rough budget, not a finished design.
