Pool Table Refelting

Worn cloth, a tear, or a colour that no longer suits the room? We replace pool-table cloth on the playing surface and rails. We'll help you choose the cloth for how you use the table, not just the most expensive option.

Colour selection is a visual guide. Confirm cloth suitability and availability with our team when requesting a refelting quote.

What a recover includes

A standard recover replaces the cloth on the bed and rails. New cushions, pockets, structural repairs and corrective slate work aren't automatically included. If there's another problem affecting play, tell us before we price the job.

Choose the cloth for the game

Worsted cloth has a smoother, less fuzzy surface than traditional woollen pool cloth. Different cloths play at different speeds, so faster isn't automatically better for every home table. We'll explain the useful differences in the options you're considering.

For a table used mainly for family games, a suitable standard cloth may be all you need. For regular practice, an upgrade may be worth considering. Tell us how you use the table and we'll explain what the extra cost gets you.

Choose a colour from the cloth range, not just a photo on a screen. For a close match to the room, ask about a physical sample before making the final choice.

Getting the size right matters

Send the playing-surface length and width, measured from cushion to cushion, along with your address and photos of the full table and cloth. Mention any weak rebound, damaged pockets or uneven roll so we can keep those issues separate from the recover.

Pool Table Refelting questions

Are felt, cloth, recovering and refelting the same thing?

In a pool-table service enquiry, felt and cloth usually mean the playing fabric. Recovering, reclothing and refelting mean replacing it. The material still matters: pool and snooker cloth aren't automatically interchangeable, and there must be enough suitable cloth for the work being done.

How much does refelting cost?

The main factors are table size, cloth choice, location and the work required. Cushion replacement, pocket repairs or extra slate work can change the total. We'll quote the cloth service and any additional work clearly rather than roll everything into an unexplained price.

Can you fit cloth I already have?

We can check it. Send the brand, product name, packaging label and the amount or cut dimensions. A piece that covers the bed may not leave enough for the rails. Don't cut it down before we've checked the table and material.

Can I choose the colour?

Yes, from the suitable cloth options available for your table. Availability varies by cloth range and colour. Screens can shift the appearance, so a physical sample is the better guide when the colour matters to the room.

Will new cloth fix dead cushions?

Not necessarily. Cloth and cushion rubber are different parts. If a rail has weak or uneven rebound, it needs assessment before we decide whether the rubber should be replaced. We'll check why the rail isn't rebounding properly before recommending the work.

Can you refelt it during a move or reassembly?

Yes. It's often a practical time because the table is already being taken apart or set up. The move or assembly and the recover remain separate parts of the quote, so you can see what you're paying for.

How long will the table be out of use?

A recover and a recover with cushion replacement are different jobs. Cushion work normally involves the rails going to the shop, adhesive cure time and a return visit. We'll confirm the expected downtime for your actual job before scheduling.

Do white marks mean the cloth needs replacing?

Not automatically. White ball marks can appear during play and aren't, by themselves, a reason to replace the cloth. Tears, thinning, loose areas and changes in play are worth checking. Send photos of the marks and the full surface rather than judging the cloth by age alone.

Can you recover a snooker table?

We can assess it. Tell us it's a snooker table and send the playing-surface measurements. The cloth type and the quantity need to match that table; a pool-table cloth pack isn't an automatic substitute.
